Assessment Plan

The Department of Communication Studies is invested in our students’ learning and growth.  As such the faculty in our department are committed to fostering effective student learning through a variety of diverse teaching methods and instruction.  The department engages in year round assessment of student needs, planning, data collection, and analysis to provide an optimal learning environment to our students.  Meeting the individual needs of each student and their academic pursuits is important for every faculty member of the Department of Communication Studies.

The Assessment Plan outlines all of the institutional learning outcomes as well as our integrative program learning outcomes.  The assessment plan helps to articulate the specific student learning outcomes as well as to clarify the criterion for success for student achievement.  All three majors conduct an on-going assessment plan with data collection through direct and indirect measures to determine the learning of our students and future changes that may result from this process.
