PLNU’s Assessment of Foundational Explorations (General Education) has evolved over time. For many years PLNU’s curriculum in Foundational Explorations (General Education) has been conceptualized as a collection of classes in four categories:
- Responding to the Sacred
- Developing Cognitive Abilities
- Exploring the Interdependent World
- Seeking Cultural Perspectives
In academic year 2019-2020, the Foundational Explorations Committee updated the classes to the following categories:
- Exploring Theology and Philosophy
- Exploring History, Society, and the Self
- Exploring Science and Technology in Society
- Exploring Arts and Culture
