PLNU’s Assessment of General Education has evolved over time. For many years PLNU’s curriculum in General Education has been conceptualized as a collection of classes in four categories:

  • Responding to the Sacred
  • Developing Cognitive Abilities
  • Exploring the Interdependent World
  • Seeking Cultural Perspectives

In academic year 2019-2020, the General Education Committee updated the classes to the following categories:

  • Exploring Theology and Philosophy
  • Exploring History, Society, and the Self
  • Exploring Science and Technology in Society
  • Exploring Arts and Culture
