The MSN and DNP programs are committed to excellence in nursing education that inspires students to fulfill their calling as servant leaders in various nursing positions. Both programs incorporate interprofessional courses throughout the curricula to ensure courses are balanced and robust. Collaborative efforts between the School of Nursing, Fermanian School of Business, School of Education, as well as School of Theology and Christian Ministry provide graduate students with a diverse learning experience. The MSN program has three concentrations and the certificate option: Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) tracks in Adult-Gerontology, Pediatrics, and Women’s Health; Nursing Education; or Healthcare Leadership concentrations and Post-Master Certificate in CNS. Upon graduation, students are eligible for taking the national certification examination of CNS or nurse educator.

The DNP program is committed to developing advanced competencies through rigorous clinical scholarship so that the graduates will be ready for increasingly complex practice, academic, and healthcare leadership roles.

Students in smaller classes will receive individualized mentorship from nursing faculty with distinguished teaching, research, and clinical backgrounds.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and post-graduate APRN certification program at Point Loma Nazarene University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
