Speech and Debate Hosted Conferences and Camps PLNU Speech and Debate enjoyed a terrific season, finishing the year as the number four university in the country for the nationwide year-long National Parliamentary Debate Association (NPDA) sweepstakes race. At the National Christian College Forensics Association (NCCFA) National Championship Tournament, hosted by Colorado Christian University, PLNU won the second place award for sweepstakes in debate for the large school division, and freshman Jack Gillette was named national champion in the senior division of Lincoln Douglas debate. PLNU also had a team named as the tournament champion for senior parliamentary debate at both the fall and spring Pacific Southwest Collegiate Forensics Association (PSCFA) Championships.

Salomon Theatre   Has put on 155 stage productions in the past 40 years, including The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Dark Matter, Crimes of the Heart, Dr. Faustus, See How They Run, and Godspell. Of the 155 productions, 51 have been directed by students and 10 have been original works of students and graduates. And these exciting and innovative shows are not just for PLNU, but also the local community.

Internships

Most students in our department complete one or two internships for college credit as part of their academic program. We have placed students in organizations as diverse as those listed on the following link Internships. One reason we have been successful in acquiring these internships is the quality of our students and their preparation before the internship experience. Organizational Communication Majors

Where Are They Now  Based on surveys of graduates, social media, and personal contact, it is clear that our students succeed in finding employment in their field following graduation. Whether it’s placement in business, government, management, sales, non-profit, military, education or religious organizations or even highly successful entrepreneurial start-ups, communication graduates are making a difference.
