Use of the Evidence of Student Learning

The reason we assess student learning is to improve each curricular or co-curricular program to better accomplish the program’s intended learning outcomes. This process of continuous improvement is referred to as “closing the assessment loop” or simply “closing the loop.” The cycle begins with learning outcomes, designing an assessment plan, curriculum map, assessment activities, data analysis and evaluation, and program adjustments.
