A curriculum map is a graphic representation that shows how courses in the curriculum for a degree program contribute to meeting the learning outcomes of the program. The American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) also states that a curriculum map is a pathway for learning. It is a tool for faculty to use in developing their assessment plan. The curricular map for each major in the Chemistry Department identifies the course where each learning outcome is introduced, developed and mastered.
